Local Buy
Who is Local Buy?
Local Buy is the Local Government Association of Queensland's (LGAQ) procurement services company. Established in 2001, Local Buy's role is to facilitate business relationships with Local Government and to aggregate the procurement requirements.
With the amalgamation of councils, there has been a revisit of Local Government inviting tenders for the supply of goods or services involving significant spend levels in each area. Local Government is aware that costs incurred to run a public tender process can range from $25K to $30K. Additionally approximately three months of time and resources are consumed. Accordingly Local Buy has effectively completed the public tender process for advertising services on behalf of all Local Government across Queensland.
The Local Buy procurement process provides the requirement for transparency and conforms to current legislative requirements. The appointment of Blaze Advertising by Local Buy for Advertising and Media Services is a key initiative of the LGAQ. These new arrangements are in accordance with the LGAQ mission to strengthen the ability and performance of Local Government to better serve the community.
